Sound for Scoliosis
Sound for Scoliosis is a nonprofit charity organization that will do nothing but raise money for a good cause – The National Scoliosis Foundation.
Sound for Scoliosis is an annual rock charity show which was founded in 2009 by grass roots marketing girl Lucia Peregrim because the disease is something that I suffer from personally and also founded to put local music back in NEPA Sound for Scoliosis will stop at nothing continuing to raise money, and the awareness to those that are suffering from the disease, Scoliosis such as myself Sound for Scoliosis is the Pennsylvania Ambassador to the National Scoliosis Foundation, located in Boston Massachusetts . Our Mission: providing an annual rock show to pursuit the desire through fund-raising efforts to give help and hope to children and families with scoliosis
In 2009, we had the first ever event at Heils, Dunmore PA where money was raised over $1100 and donated after cost $250.00 to the National Scoliosis Foundation.
In 2010, we spanned out over 9 venues. We raised over $10,000 to the cause and have donated after cost and taking out the in kind donations through silent auction over $10,000.00
This year we turn it up to 11, 2011 that is. Ladies and Gents, we are back again for our 3rd year at Heils Place, 1002 Wheeler Avenue, Dunmore PA The celebration starts at 4pm on Friday 07/29/2011 and ends on Sunday 07/31/2011 at 2am. We have 34 bands donating their time for us a worthy cause. Headling acts include Absolution, Far In Between, Madison Avenue, Five Second High, Silhouette Lies, %Dual Diagnosis% and much more.
There will be a CD available to the first 1,000 people through the door included in the ticket price this year which is $15 per day or a hopper pass for $40 can be obtained.
Therefore if you are a musician and you are interested in donating to CD, please let us know as well % of the proceeds go to the NSF.
We also have monthly fundraising shows; Rock the Lumbar beginning in August at various venues and an original music festival Scolipalooza, starting in May at The Vintage Theater, Penn Avenue Scranton
Be on the watch for the Pa Chapter of the National Scoliosis Foundation to open up later this year where Lucia Peregrim will be the President of.
Sound for Scoliosis will always be in the front burner.
IT is a one to two man operation and that’s it. If it can do the dynamic impact in years to come that it has done in 2009/2010, then I am happy, if not then this will no longer be.
