Philadelphia gets a taste of Boston’s underground punk scene

Philadelphia, PA; Friday April 5, 2012 – ChanneL3 today announced the details and lineup for the Radio Control and Thick Shakes spring tour’s Philadelphia leg on Sunday, April 15, 2012. The show will take place at The Fire, 412 West Girard Ave Philadelphia from 8 PM to 1 AM, Doors open at 7:30 PM, +21 with a $7 cover. Radio Control will enjoy its second venture into the Philly music scene, while Thick Shakes, the show’s co-headliner, will play its first show here. CHanneL3 also marks this event as its first venture into the Philly scene; however, the promoter brings its previous seasoned experience and a breadth of independent acts from outside state lines.

Radio Control (RC), a catchy, quirky punk pop duo from Beantown, transmits its infectious, high-energy, raw garage punk sound to its cult-like fan base. Formed in 2009, they signed onto Polk Records in the same year. They released their first full-length album called, “Hot Audio” in April last year.

Adding to the Boston presence, Thick Shakes subscribes to, an unapologetic and unpretentious approach to fuzz garage rock n‘roll. Thick Shakes will have you dancing uncontrollably for hours and leave you wanting more.

To round out the show, CHaneL3 brings one of Philadelphia’s shining examples of gritty and innovative bands: Miking Mihrab. Miking Mihrab will set the tone for the evening with their gloriously raw, gritty, pure, in-your-face punk garage rock.

Come down to the Fire on Sunday April 15th and set the evening ablaze with the reckless abandon. Sunday’s line up will transport you to the dingy basement clubs you used fake id’s to get into – where cigarette smoke, aerosol fumes, and sweat hung heavily in the air. This will be a night filled with music to dance to, to sweat to, to take amphetamines and freak out to.
