So to speak, way back, this was my back yard, catching tadpoles, building tree houses in the woods, I grew up with orchards, and cows, and black walnut trees surronding me. “I’m telling ya…” “grandpaw, kids today got it so good???”, ya know, I’m not so sure they do, three of my sisters and me, just for fun, we convinced our younger sister, indians were living back in our woods! I don’t think we were too worried about where to put the TV back then, christ, we had only three channels anyway another three that came in fuzzy, that was the UHF. Wyeth Country, The Valley of the Brandywine, Land of the Leni Lenape, I ran all around, off and on, some 40 years all over that countryside. Here in Hollywood, I ain’t got a truck, ya know, anywhere I’d want to get to, be a hard ride on my bike. Used to, my buddy George and me, we used to hang out on the Res., “JOHNSON JON”, its a real good memory, my memory of him, an underground water source ran through this box canyon of his, Johnson hooked us up, led us down, down over the cliff, guided us in, a fair trade, I handed off the keys to my truck to him, he needed to get beer he said! Anyhow, this canyon had almost everything, a waterfall at the top, petroglyphs and ancient ruins spread throughout the canyon walls, there was this crazy horse! I remember watching Jonson, watching him, him saying he don’t know if he’d ever get him tamed down again. Ya know its a good place for me today to stop right here, I found this picture of Jonson on the internet, I started laughing, that look in his eyes, looks like he’s still wondering about that crazy horse.
