INTRODUCTION

Please be careful when you accept a FaceBook Application. You could be exposing and exploiting me, as well as, your other friends.

A rogue FaceBook Application gets you to click on it and give them permission to exploit all your personal information… including, me, your friend.

In this case study, friends of mine on FaceBook clicked on some silly link… perhaps something like “What Song Was Number 1 on My Birthday?” The application then goes to some more bad guys. In this case, Footware International. Footware Internation aka House Of Shoes aka All About Shoes.

All About Shoes took advantage of my friends in a fraudulent way. Then, they exploited the violation of privacy by committing several crimes with my name and likeness (i.e. by tagging my name and icon in pictures of shoes.)

A DANGER OF SOCIAL GRACE

The following is my third attempt to report the crimes. In this instance, I’m invoking FaceBook for their liability in protecting my Intellectual Property Rights (i.e. my name and likeness and personal information for use in commercial advertisements.)
